The Taste of Wheaton returns to Wheaton this June 5-8.

For the young and young at heart, the carnival (located on Liberty Street between Hale and Cross) kicks off on Thursday, June 5 at 4 pm and runs throughout the festival. For more information on unlimited wristband pricing and exact hours, visit wheatonparkdistrict.com/taste.

Besides having a blast at the carnival, kids can explore their creative side with Art in the Park, part of the Wheaton Park District’s “Create. Discover. Play.” initiative. Projects this year include the popular Monster Mural®, Tie Dye Station, Wheaton Park District facility activities, and a Community Art Project. Art in the Park is available on Saturday and Sunday. Art in the Park is sponsored by AAA. For exact times and locations, visit wheatonparkdistrict.com/taste. Last in family fun, kids can dance and sing to entertainment by Radio Disney featuring "Doc McStuffins” at 11:30 am on Saturday.

Good food is at the heart of the Taste of Wheaton, which, in addition to traditional fair fare, features some of the best that our community has to offer, like selections from Ivy Restaurant, The Bank, and Cellar Bistro. Food vendors will be available on Friday and Saturday (and a limited offering on Sunday). A beer garden will feature soda, water, wine by the glass (red and white), Miller products, Mike’s Hard Lemonade, and a rotating craft beer option throughout the weekend. The beer garden is sponsored by Haggerty Motors.

And new this year: On Thursday night, Wheaton Chamber presents the first “Slice of Wheaton,” offering slices of pizza from local pizzerias for only $2 each or 6 tastes for $10.

While enjoying tasty food and drinks, Taste of Wheaton participants can also take advantage of some great health and fitness opportunities. The Cosley Zoo Run for the Animals 5k and 10k, for example, celebrate its 33rd year. The race also includes the Zippity Zoo Run ½ mile for ages 6-12. To register, visit active.com. The bike valet is back again this year, available on Saturday from 6:30 am to 5 pm, encouraging individuals and families to ride their bike to the event.

The Memorial Park Bandshell will be rocking all weekend with local bands and other entertainment. For a complete schedule, visit wheatonparkdistrict.com/taste.
