Redefining Girly author coming to Naperville.

Melissa Atkins Wardy, the author of Redefining Girly: How Parents Can Fight the Stereotyping and Sexualizing of Girlhood, from Birth to Tween will be in Naperville Saturday, Jan. 25.
Wardy will be at Anderson's Bookshop, 123 W. Jefferson Avenue, in Naperville, at 2 p.m.
Redefining Girly – an essential guide for combating the stereotyping and sexualization of girls—is filled with tips for challenging “pinkification,” changing the media’s pressure on girls and enacting strategies to effect growth and critical thinking regarding gendered toys, a press release states.

Wardy, who has been featured by Ms, CNN, FOX News and BlogHer, provides templates and sample conversations for parents and caregivers to create homes that inspire healthy and confident girls.
