PHOTOS: Vintage Baseball at Naper Settlement

Residents stepped back in time on Sunday to witness a vintage baseball exhibition between the Chicago Salmon and the DuPage County Plowboys at Naper Settlement.

Long before the mega stadiums (and even larger player salaries) of today, in the 1850s the game of baseball was played in its simplest form - with bare knuckles and few rules.

Naperville residents got a chance to relive that experience on Sunday when put on a vintage baseball exhibition between the Chicago Salmon and the DuPage County Plowboys.

Players from both teams played with no mitts and a lone umpire made the call, reminiscent of how the game was played more than 150 years ago.
