Two-day Festival Features Music by Dal Niente and Brooklyn Rider

The contemporary music group Dal Niente and string quartet Brooklyn Rider will perform at a two-day New Music festival at North Central College.

Dal Niente will perform on April 11 and Brooklyn Rider on April 12.

Dal Niente is described by North Central College as "will perform an eclectic program of American, European and South American composers. Chicago-based Dal Niente performs a broad range of 20th and 21st century music, including works by Mark André, Luciano Berio, Lee Hyla and Steve Reich."

North Central College describes Brooklyn Rider as "a genre-defying string quartet that has attracted legions of fans and critical acclaim from classical and rock critics. NPR credits Brooklyn Rider with “recreating the 300-year-old form of string quartet as a vital and creative 21st century ensemble.” Brooklyn Rider frequently performs in concert halls and clubs, in venues as diverse as Joe’s Pub in New York City, The San Francisco Jazz Festival, Todai-ji Temple in Japan, the Library of Congress and the South By Southwest Festival."
