Tex Mex & Music Fest

The CityGate Centre campus will be alive with star-studded music and delicious southwestern cooking as the Tex Mex & Music Fest presented by Calamos Investments rolls into town Friday and Saturday, July 13 and 14.

Headlining the Tex Mex & Music Fest is popular recording artist Chris Isaak, who will be taking the stage at 8 p.m. on Friday night. Isaak is best known for his late 80s mega-hit “Wicked Game."

Warming Chris up on Friday night will be popular Chicago restaurateur and Top-Chef Winner Rick Bayless. Bayless is the man behind the Frontera Grill, Topolobampo and XOCO restaurants and is a renowned expert on Mexican cooking.

Carlos Ortega will kick off the festival on Friday.

On Saturday night, the main act is Poi Dog Pondering, featuring a rare appearance by their full, 16-piece orchestra. The Country Sky Band and Asleep at the Wheel will also be performing on Saturday.

For the little ones, there will be a special Kidz Korral, with face painting, rope tricks, western arts and crafts, and more.
