Béla Fleck and the Flecktones will perform its eclectic repertoire during a concert at NCC.
Fleck, a banjoist, composer and bandleader, has reconvened the intial lineup of the group. Classical, jazz, bluegrass and African music, and electric blues and Eastern European folk dances will be included.
With Fleck, the circa 1988-group consists of bassist Victor Wooten, percussionist Roy Wooten and pianist/harmonica player Howard Levy.
The group began with a planned single performance that led to three albums and a tour schedule of about 150 shows per year.
The Flecktones have five Grammy awards and are coming together in support of their new album Rocket Science.
