Naperville Jaycees to honor Theresa Ann Pryor, member and friend, through Misericordia fundraiser!

In November of 2010, Theresa Pryor, a long-standing member of the Naperville Jaycees, the Naperville community and many Naperville area charitable organizations, passed away suddenly as a result of a brain aneurysm at age 45.

Theresa Pryor was extremely committed to fundraising and the Naperville Jaycees - serving on the Board of Directors and Last Fling Executive Committee, as well as chairing Naperville Jaycees’ Distinguished Service Awards.  Theresa loved festivals – she co-chaired the Last Fling Sponsor tent for 10 years and volunteered her time and business, Arbor Vitae, as a coffee vendor for festivals such as Naper Days, Rockin’ for the Troops at Cantigny in Wheaton, and the Naperville Rotary Club’s “Soups On”.

Recently, Theresa’s sister, Jennifer, became a resident of Misericordia, one of the nation’s leading communities for children and adults with developmental disabilities. The organization was founded in Chicago in 1921 and today, on its 31-acre campus, Misericordia provides a network of services and a variety of care for 600 children and adults from diverse backgrounds, with disabilities ranging from moderate to profound.  As a former speech pathologist, Theresa’s experience working with autistic children and stroke patients furthered her belief in the Misericordia mission and fueled her desire to fundraise on their behalf.

On Saturday, September 3rd, 2011 the Naperville Jaycees will honor Theresa’s life by raising funds for Misericordia at the Last Fling held along Naperville’s famed Riverwalk. Purple memorial bracelets will be available to purchase for $2each at the Last Fling beverage tents and the Sponsors’ Tent on Rotary Hill (all beverage tips received that day will be donated to Misericordia in Theresa’s name).  Also, throughout the event, bracelets can be purchased at the Jaycees Info Booth at the corner of Eagle and Jackson Streets.
