Marines to serve at Colonial Cafes to bolster Toys for Tots Drive

November marks the beginning of the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve’s annual Toys For Tots Drive. And on Veteran’s Day, Friday November 11, Marines will be serving in an entirely new way…they will literally “serve” guests at all seven Colonial Cafe & Ice Cream locations across the Fox Valley from 5 to 7 p.m.

“This gives our guests an opportunity to personally thank a Marine for all they do in service to our great nation,” said Clinton Anderson, Colonial director of operations.

“We’re also encouraging guests to bring new unwrapped toys; in return, Colonial will give guests a $1 coupon for each toy they bring…good toward food they purchase at Colonial,” Anderson said.

The primary goal of Toys for Tots is to deliver, through a new toy at Christmas, a message of hope to less fortunate youngsters that will assist them in becoming responsible, productive, patriotic citizens.

The campaign’s objective is to play an active role in the development of one the nation’s most valuable resources – our children; to unite all members of local communities in a common cause during the collection period; and to contribute to better communities in the future.
