Made in Aurora Concert

The musicians and creators of Made in Aurora Vol. 2: City of Lights aren’t content with bringing local music to your turntable. On Dec. 18, they’re taking to the stage.

“The Made in Aurora Holiday Special” is scheduled for 5pm Sunday, December 18 at the Copley Theater in downtown Aurora. Executive Producer Steve Warrenfeltz describes the show as “a live rendition of the new holiday album, with a few changes.” While most musicians from the album are scheduled to perform, the evening has also found a host in dramatist and stand-up comic Matt Myers, who will tie the evening together with a mix of scripted and unscripted material. Warrentfeltz says the musicians “might become part of the show in this sense, as well.”

Made in Aurora Vol. 2: City of Lights is the second in a series of collaborative album projects spotlighting the musicians and songwriters of Aurora, Illinois, and the surrounding area. The projects were created by Warrenfeltz, who spends a lot of time talking with area musicians in his record store, Kiss the Sky, in downtown Geneva, Illinois. Albums in the series are released in “dual format,” with both vinyl and CD included in one package.
