Fox Valley Philharmonic Children's Concert

Fox Valley Philharmonic to Present a "Not-For-Kids-Only" Children's Concert

At 3:00 pm on Sunday afternoon, February 19th, the Fox Valley Philharmonic Orchestra, under the baton of Maryann Flock, will present a special "Children's Concert."   The free concert will feature a performance of the Prokofiev classic, Peter and the Wolf, narrated by Virginia Pebelske, “Mz. Ginger” Travelling Storytime and Stories-in-the-Park Librarian for the Aurora Public Library, and the Lion King Suite from the movie and the musical.  Both works continue to have wide appeal to young and old alike.  There will also be an opportunity for children to have a brief stint conducting the orchestra in a “Triumphal” March by Beethoven as well as participate, during the intermission, in an "Instrument Petting Zoo" where children can try playing various orchestral instruments.

Admission to the concert is free, but donations are appreciated.  The children’s concert will held at Our Savior Lutheran Church located at 420 West Downer Place in Aurora. Parking is available in the lot behind the church off Garfield Avenue.
