Congregation Beth Shalom 40th Anniversary Concert

Congregation Beth Shalom of Naperville will celebrate forty years of Jewish life in Naperville with a special concert on February 25, 2012 at 7:30pm.

Forty years ago, a group of Jewish families in Naperville joined together in what would grow into today’s thriving Congregation Beth Shalom of Naperville. In celebration of this important anniversary, Hasha Musha Perman, Congregation Beth Shalom’s Cantor (a Jewish term for the religious leader who leads a congregation in music), will be showcasing her talents – and the talents of many Congregation Beth Shalom members – at an evening that will feature music, comedy, and a visual history of major congregation events over the past forty years.

In Cantor Hasha’s own words, “We are a center for Jewish culture in the western suburbs.  I am so proud of the quality of this exciting entertainment and welcome everyone in our community to join with us as we celebrate our many years of bringing beautiful Jewish music to Naperville.”

The Anniversary Concert will be Saturday, February 25, 7:30 p.m, followed by a dessert reception. Advance tickets for adults are $18, for children $5.  At the door, tickets are $36 for adults, $10 for children.  Tickets are available in the synagogue office, 630.961.1818.

Cantor Hasha Musha Perman began her cantorial career at CBS in 1990.  Her band, Hasha Musha & The Kiev Klezmers has inspired her to bring many different kinds of music to Congregation Beth Shalom, including klezmer, classical, folk, and rock.
