WHEATON, Ill. – DuPage Habitat for Humanity (DHFH), a locally run affiliate of Habitat for Humanity International, will put the fun in fundraising as it hosts a concert with internationally known Beatles tribute band American English to support its inaugural Women Build initiative. The exciting and family-friendly concert event will take place at 8 p.m. on Friday, May 25, 2012 at North Central College’s Pfeiffer Hall in downtown Naperville. Doors will open at 7 p.m.

The Women Build program was established by Habitat for Humanity to encourage the involvement of women in the construction of Habitat homes.  The mission of Women Build is simple - to recruit, educate and nurture women to build – and advocate for – simple, decent and affordable houses in their communities.  Women Build crews have already built more than 1,750 Habitat for Humanity houses within the United States, as well as in dozens of other countries.

Locally, the DuPage Habitat for Humanity Women Build will engage a diverse group of women to assist in the construction of sustainable townhomes in Glen Ellyn.  Women Build-ers will raise $25,000 to promote this project and the overall work of DuPage Habitat for Humanity.

Women Build-ers will do this with a little help from their friends, American English.  As the most celebrated Beatles tribute band in the world and one of the most popular live acts in Chicagoland, American English was voted the winner of three consecutive Beatlefest sound-alike contests as well as Illinois Entertainer of the Year and Best Tribute Band in our area. Their renditions of classic Beatles songs, along with charismatic stage presence and memorably upbeat performances, have made American English a must-see act both here and abroad.

Popular radio host Dave Fogel of WLS-94.7 FM will serve as the evening’s master of ceremonies, a duty he’s familiar with after introducing American English at several area events through the years. Before the show, Fogel will welcome to the stage several women who have partnered with DuPage Habitat for Humanity to achieve home ownership.

Tickets for the American English Women Build fundraising concert are $22 when purchased in advance through Pfeiffer Hall’s website: http://tickets.noctrl.edu/. Tickets will be available at the door for $25 if the event isn’t sold out prior to that evening.
