8th Annual Frontier Kite Fly Festival this Sunday

The festival will be held from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Frontier Sports Complex in Naperville.

The 2014 Frontier Kite Fly Festival will bring kite enthusiasts from the Chicago area to teach, entertain, and demonstrate kite flying techniques and amazing kites of all shapes and sizes.

The festival will be held from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Frontier Sports Complex, located at 3380 Cedar Glade Drive, behind Neuqua Valley High School, just south of 95th Street. Admission to the event is free. Admission to the inflatable area is $5.

An entertainment stage includes performances by local musical groups. The performance schedule is as follows:

  • 10:30 a.m. School of Rock
  • 11:30 a.m. Neuqua Valley High School Steel Band
  • 1 p.m. Andrew Huber

Kite enthusiasts include kite experts from Chicago Kite.  

The Kite Festival is sponsored by Eye Level, Naperville Development Partnership/Naperville Convention and Visitors’ Bureau, New York Life, and Tide Dry Cleaners and Bella Monograms.  Bike Bald will bring the Neptune fire truck to the event. Food vendors include Aurelio’s Pizza, Kona Ice and OMango.
