Wind Chill Warning Remains: -40 Wind Chill Values Possible Today

The Chicago area is in store for another day of frigid cold temperatures and dangerously low wind chill values. 

A wind chill warning will remain in effect for much of the Chicago area through 9 a.m. Wednesday with wind chill values between -25 and -40 possible through mid-morning Tuesday. A "warm up" Tuesday afternoon should bring wind chill values up to -15 to -25, according to the National Weather Service. 

Wind gusts should could reach between 20 to 25 mph Tuesday. Wind chill values could drop again to as low as -30 early Wednesday, according to the NWS. 

Several area schools have closed for a second day in a row due to the frigid cold.
