Watch This Low-Flying Minion Blimp Cruise Over 75th Street in Naperville

If you looked up Monday night, you may have spotted a giant, floating minion hovering over Naperville.

It's a bird! It's a plane! It's a low-flying Minion blimp floating above 75th Street!

Patch spotted a blimp Monday night around 6:45 p.m. cruising north over Springbrook Prairie Forest Preserve in Naperville. It then hovered west toward Route 59 and disappeared somewhere in the distance over Aurora.

After scratching our heads a bit, Patch later discovered the blimp was part of a promotion for the 3D animated comedy "Despicable Me 2," and not some sort of apocalyptic outer-space invasion. (Disclaimer: We initially couldn't see the giant Minion painted on the side of it.)

The "Despicablimp" has been part of a nation-wide journey, which you can track at despicablimp.com.

According to the website, the blimp normally flies at 1,000 feet, its maximum speed is about 45 mph and it is 165 feet long.

Did you spot the "Despicable Me 2" Minion Monday night?
