Trout Season Set to Begin on Oct. 15 in DuPage County

DuPage County Forest Preserve District will stock lakes before opening day.

Fishermen and women, Oct. 15 is the date you want to remember. That is the day the fall rainbow trout season will open in the DuPage County Forest Preserve District.

Prior to the opening, the district will stock Silver Lake at Blackwell Forest Preserve in Warrenville with 2,400 rainbow trout. The district also will stock Pickerel Lake at Pratt’s Wayne Woods Forest Preserve in Wayne with 1,600 rainbow trout and Grove Lake at Wood Dale Grove Forest Preserve in Wood Dale with roughly 400 fish, according to the forest preserve district.

The three lakes will be closed to all fishing from Saturday, Oct. 1 through Friday, Oct. 14.

Anglers 16 and older who are not legally disabled must have in their possession valid Illinois fishing licenses with inland trout stamps. The creel limit is five trout per day with no length restriction, according to the Forest Preserve District.
