Service Honors Memory of Jon Kaden

The Naperville Central High School student was killed Friday when he was hit by a Metra train.

A memorial service for Jon Kaden will be held Wednesday at Pfeiffer Hall on the North Central College Campus.

Kaden, a student, was killed Friday when he was hit by a Metra train. A fellow Napervile Central student, Mark Kim, started a Facebook memorial page in Kaden's honor and thousands of people have "liked" the page and commented since Friday. Kaden’s father Ken posted information Sunday about the memorial service on the Facebook page.

Friends have also created a Facebook group where friends can request to order T-shirts memorializing Kaden.

Last week, Kaden spent time at Ball State University last week taking classes at a journalism workshop. He was a staff writer on The Central Times at the Naperville Central. He would have been a junior at the high school this year. Among his interests were photography, journalism and Dairy Queen Dilly Bars – a favorite of his.

The memorial for Kaden will take place at 4 p.m., Wednesday at Pfeiffer Hall, 310 E. Benton Ave.
