Roads Closed Sunday Morning for 5K Near River Woods Elementary

The city of Naperville reminds all residents and interested parties of the upcoming street closures that will be in effect throughout the taking place at 7:30 a.m. on Sunday, May 20 starting at , 2607 River Woods Drive.

The run requires temporary street closures beginning at approximately 7:15 a.m. and ending no later than 10 a.m. Race route streets are re-opened to traffic as soon as the determines it is safe.  

The temporary street closures are as follows:

• River Woods Drive from Naper Boulevard to Alexandria Drive
• Alexandria Drive from Naper Boulevard to Keim Road
• Apple River Drive from River Woods Drive to Alexandria Drive
• Arlington Avenue from Barkdoll Road to Keim Road
• Keim Road from Arlington Avenue to Augustana Drive
• Augustana Drive from Keim Road to University Drive
• University Drive from Augustana Drive to Keim Road
• Remington Drive from Arlington Avenue to Alexandria Drive

Motorists should expect delays throughout the morning hours in and around the race route area and take alternate routes or allow extra time to get to their destination. A color-coded map of the street closures is located on the city’s website at www.naperville.il.us/walkrun.aspx. The map requires Adobe Acrobat reader to view. 

The Run for Reading is a 5K run/walk to benefit the Jeanine Nicarico Memorial Fund for Literacy. The fund awards grants to individual educators, or entire schools, to promote a deeper understanding of literacy and provide enriched literacy opportunities for students within the Naperville community.
