Ribfest Makes Changes: Expands Days, Consolidates Ribbers in One Area

The Naperville Exchange Club shares plans for the upcoming event taking place June 29 - July 3.

From The Exchange Club of Naperville

The 2012 Ribfest Committee chair Mark Wright announced that “Ribfest 2012 will be a 4 ½ day event starting on June 29th -July 3rd.  We are very excited to offer date specific tickets this year for Ribfest.  This move should help us to avoid closing the park and manage crowd compression due to past safety concerns.”

Ribfest continues to provide top notch entertainment each year that Ribfest patrons have come to expect.  With the lineup of Steve Miller, Joe Walsh and ZZ Top, this year is no exception.  The Monday and Tuesday headliners will be announced soon.

The number of tickets sold will be limited each day to the capacity available for patrons in the stage area. The ticket prices will vary from $25 for Steve Miller Band to a pre-sale early bird special of $11 for July 2nd and 3rd.   There will be free admission late on July  3rd for everyone to enjoy the annual fireworks display and as always, children 11 and under are free with a paying adult.  This year all tickets will be available for sale on-line or at the gate only.  No tickets will be available at other locations this year. For online ticket purchases and event information visit www.ribfest.net.

After two years of patrons requesting this move, all 16 Rib Vendors will be consolidated in the South area of the park so patrons can enjoy going to all their favorite ribbers in one spot.   There will be an eating area on the South with a big screen viewing of the main stage with a simulcast view of the musical entertainment.    Also on the south side will be the expanded carnival and family area with a petting zoo, magic show and circus.  On Monday, July 2nd there will be an offering for discounted carnival ride tickets which will be available from noon to 4.  Also there will be special offerings by the food vendors that day.
