Everyone likes a party. For a little end of the week fun, head over to on Thursday night as the city of Naperville and the Naperville Municipal Band celebrate the completion of the Central Park renovation project.
The event will kick off at 7:30 p.m. Thursday with a brief ceremony and some speeches prior to the Municipal Band performing its final concert of the summer.
The Central Park renovations included replacement of the park’s bench seating, improved site grading, improved lighting design and installation, relocation of the cannon to minimize conflicts with the portable restrooms and relocation of the audio platform to allow for better visibility of the Community Concert Center, according to the .
The city received $300,000 in grant funding from the Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity to help pay for the new seating, according to the city of Naperville.
