Geneva—Former Batavians Lose Granddaughter in Newtown Tragedy—Former St. Mark's Church missionaries had moved to Newtown to be near their son's family. Their granddaughter, Charlotte, was one of the first-grade victims.

Oak Park/River Forest/Forest Park—Poop-Filled Sock Used in Attack on Blue Line—Oak Park police are seeking help to identify the assailant in a Blue Line attack near the Austin stop last week.

Hinsdale/Clarendon Hills/Burr Ridge——Clarendon Hills Police Chief Ted Jenkins said the amount is the most the department has received for a seized vehicle in his time.

Wheaton—Sheriff Investigating Fatal Accident Near Glen Ellyn—A man died after hitting a tree early Wednesday morning on Park Boulevard.

Naperville—3 Naperville Men Among 22 Charged in NIU Freshman's Hazing Death—Northern Illinois University students from Naperville are among 22 fraternity members being charged with hazing crimes after a pledge died due to excessive drinking, DeKalb police said.
