Parents Talk: Do Your Children Work Summer Jobs

Parents, do you expect your kids to work over summer break?

Summer is right around the corner and the kids will soon be out of school. For the older kids, there is a lot of time to waste sleeping in and staying up late. Though, many kids these days are so focused on school they are still busy studying through the summer.

When I was in high school I worked one summer as a lifeguard. I had the best tan, had some great fun and earned what I thought was a ton of money. It was one of my first jobs.

Working teaches responsibility, the importance of being part of a team and the reward of earning your own money.
