Mill Street to Close During Installation of 1,500-Pound Statue

Local access to driveways on Mill Street will be available during installation of Joseph Naper statue, according to the city.

Mill Street between Jefferson and Jackson avenues will be closed to through traffic the morning of Friday, Aug. 9, due to the installation of the Joseph Naper statue at the Naper Homestead site, according to the city of Naperville.

The closure will accommodate the installation of the 1,500-pound bronze statue. A large crane will maneuver the artwork into place on the site, located at the southeast corner of Mill Street and Jefferson Avenue. Local access to driveways on Mill Street will be maintained. Motorists should plan accordingly and take alternate routes or allow extra time to get to their destination.

In addition, subsequent installation-related activities will require the parking spaces on northbound Mill Street between Jackson and Jefferson avenues to be closed from Aug. 9 to Aug. 22.
