Kevin Trudo Sings You the News, Starting Tomorrow

Patch unveils its new weekly feature. It's got a funky beat, and you can bug out to it.

We here at Patch strive to bring you the best community news we can, as quickly and as accurately as possible.

And starting tomorrow, we’ll do it with a song in our hearts.

Tomorrow, we’ll unveil our new regular Friday afternoon video feature. It’s called Kevin Sings the News, and the premise is really all there in the title. Every Friday, local musician Kevin Trudo will take the best headlines of the past seven days and sing a song about them for us.

Of course, he’ll be choosing the weirdest and funniest news stories of the week. Tomorrow’s song, for instance, is built around about a guy caught sniffing inhalants outside an adult bookstore.

That’s comedy gold, that is.

So if you’ve ever read a story on Patch and thought to yourself, “You know, that would make a great folk song,” well, this is for you. The new video will go live every Friday at 2 p.m. Watch for it. And support your local musicians. They write the songs that make the whole world sing.

No, wait, that’s Barry Manilow. But you know what we mean.

OK, recap. Kevin Sings the News. Friday afternoons at 2 p.m., here on Patch. Be there. And thank you.
