Friends, Classmates Travel to Wisconsin for Memorial Honoring Shaun Wild

No plans have been made yet for a local memorial service for Shaun Wild, though discussions are underway.

Former classmates and close friends of Shaun Wild will be heading to Brown Deer, WI Thursday to attend a memorial service in Wild’s honor.

A is being held tonight at Brown Deer High School in Wild’s hometown and his funeral will be held Friday in Milwaukee.

Wild, a graduate of North Central College, and was a punter. He graduated in 2011 and was a first-year teacher at Spring Brook Elementary School in Indian Prairie School District 204 when at Frankie’s Blue Room. Naperville resident stabbed Wild, current North Central College student and a bouncer, Raphael Castaneda.

Officials at North Central College are unsure exactly how many students will be attending the memorial service, but the college will be transporting two busloads of students to Wisconsin for the service, said Ted Slowik, director of PR and media relations. 

North Central College’s President Hal Wilde is scheduled to make a few remarks at the memorial service, Slowik said.

There has been discussion about holding a local memorial service in upcoming weeks, but nothing has been planned yet.
