Each week, we'll give you the info on the five best family activities or events for the week.

You're time-pressed enough, so we're happy to do the research and find the best things to do and places to go, both in and within reasonable striking distance.

  • Where/When:
    , 1555 75th St., Woodridge on Saturday, April 2 from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.
    Why Go:
    Money raised will go to Magnificent Mutts Rescue who have found homes for over 500 animals.
    Pricing:
    $20 per person 12 and up.  Price includes bowling, bowling shoes, pizza, pop, salad, and bread sticks.

  • Where/When:
    Morton Arboretum, 4100 Lincoln Ave, Lisle on Saturday, April 2 and Sunday, April 3 from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
    Why Go:
    Children can make a recycled plant container, plant a tree seed and take it home to watch it grow!

  • SPRING BREAK SPLASH
    Where/When: 
    Grizzly Jack’s Grand Bear Resort, 2643 North Route 178 in Utica, is offering reduced rates and special packages during spring break.
    Why Go:
    Packages include an overnight stay in a family suite, free water park admission, 100 arcade tokens, one large cheese pizza and two $10 breakfast credits.
    Pricing:
    Packages begin at $154.95 per night.
  • GONE FISHING
    Where/When: 616 Delles Rd., Wheaton, from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. Monday through Friday.
    Why Go: Spend spring break learning the basics of safe fishing. For ages 8-14.
    Pricing: $45 for residents, $58 for non-residents.

  • Where/When: , 523 S Webster St, Naperville, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Friday, April 1.
    Why Go: Children in grades one through five are invited to Naper Settlement for "Foolish Fun on April 1," which includes games, activities and crafts.
    Pricing: $45 for residents, $58 for non-residents.
