Event Benefits Local, International Cultural Groups

Whole Foods will be hosting two events that will focus on international culture and cuisine. Investigative reporter Dave Savini will also be participating.

Whole Foods Market Naperville will hold a store wide event on Feb. 25 to benefit the Whole Planet Foundation and Feb. 29 a 5 percent Day to benefit The Naperville Cultural Center. The Whole Planet Foundation is a private, non profit organization established by Whole Foods Market providing grants to microfinance institutions in Latin America, Africa and Asia who in turn develop and offer microenterprise loan programs, training and other financial services to the self employed poor. The foundation was formed to give back to communities where Whole Foods Market does business with the goal of helping that community succeed and flourish.

A storewide Celebration will be held on Saturday the 25th between 12-3pm in partnership with The Naperville Cultural Center. The day will feature, free Entertainment with Manpreet Bedi, storewide samples of international and Whole trade troducts, A cooking demonstration with Dave Savini, investigative reporter with CBS2 and Michelle Leblanc at 2pm, who will demonstrate Indian Vegetable Curry and Curry Pot Pie. Demonstration cost is $10 and proceeds will benefit The Whole Planet Foundation.

Kids can also sign up to create international puppets and worry dolls for $5 with proceeds also benefiting the Whole Planet Foundation. The event is free but classes are sign up with a small donation. Sign- ups will be taken at the Whole Foods Market Customer Service or online at www.naperculture.org.

The will also hold a 5 percent Community Support Day on Feb. 29 for the Naperville Cultural Center. On this day, 5 percent of all net proceeds will go to this valuable non- profit in our community promoting peace through arts, culture and music. Sign up for a delicious Cooking demonstration that will feature Sarita Sharma with Simply Vedic at 7 p.m. in celebration of the 5 percent for The Naperville Cultural Center. Sign ups for this cooking can be made at the Whole Foods Market Customer Service desk.
