Micro-retreat for women celebrates Celtic spirituality March 16 at St. Thomas the Apostle

Women of all ages are invited to celebrate the spirit of St. Patrick through “Weaving the Celtic Spirit” from 6:30 – 9:00 p.m. Friday, March 16, at the ministry center in St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church, 1500 Brookdale Road, Naperville. “Master weaver” leading this micro-retreat will be JoAnne McElroy, a spiritual director at Mayslake Ministries in Lombard.

 

During the program, participants will gain a deep sense of the Divine Presence in all creation, prayer, sacred place and pilgrimage that forms the very essence of Celtic spirituality.

“Together … through poetry, story, music and self-reflection we will weave a tapestry of Celtic wisdom, and experience the spiritual richness of the Celtic tradition,” explains McElroy, a lay minister, educator and life coach with extensive experience in adult faith formation programs, workshops and retreats. McElroy holds an M.A. degree in spirituality from Loyola University and a Certificate in Spiritual Direction.

The evening will begin with wine and light refreshments.

 

Reservations, at $10 each payable at the door, are encouraged as soon as possible because space is limited to 75 participants.
