Construction Begins May 31 on Butterfield Road Intersections

Drivers should expect delays at Naperville Road and Route 59 and Butterfield.

On Tuesday, drivers who frequent Butterfield Road at Naperville Road and Route 59 should expect delays.

If weather permits, the intersections will be reduced to one lane and one left-turn lane in all four directions starting May 31, according to a news release from the Illinois Department of Transportation.

The lane closures are necessary to install temporary pavement and temporary traffic signals for an upcoming reconstruction and widening project that will take place on Illinois Route 56 (Butterfield Road) from west of Illinois Route 59 to Naperville Road through Wheaton and Warrenville, according to the Illinois DOT.
