Meet Willie a Mastiff/Shep mix. He is 5 years old and 80 pounds of love. He is a sweet dog that just wants to sit on his foster moms lap. We do not know how he ended up at the Hill but he was lucky when the team at Hardeman Adoptable Pets, Inc. took him in. As usual, the shelter provided vet care and testing prior to adoption or sending to a rescue partner. It was heartbreaking news to find out that Willie was HW+.
This means that he will be passed over by 99% of the rescue groups. Why? Because it will costs between $500 and $800 to treat a dog this size for HW and will remain in a foster home for up to 60 days for treatment.
Casey's Safe Haven would like to rescue Willie and provide his HW treatment but we need a foster home willing to provide him safe haven while he goes through treatment and finds a new home.
