Upcoming Linden Oaks at Edward events focus on recovery

Linden Oaks at Edward will host its annual Recovery Day on Saturday, September 14, 11 a.m.-1 p.m. in the Linden Oaks Healing Garden on the campus of Edward Hospital, 801 S. Washington St. in Naperville.  Recovery Day celebrates the successes of those who are in recovery from chemical dependency and serves as a reminder of the commitment to those who still need support.

The keynote speaker of this year’s event, a member of Narcotics Anonymous, will deliver a message of recovery as he walks through growing up with supportive but very poor parents, discussing early victories in his life, which took a downturn as the disease of addiction took hold.  The speaker will discuss the challenges and struggles of addiction, and how recovery dramatically changed his life and brought him spiritual blessings and gifts.

The Saturday event will also feature the band, Hip Shakin’ Party, featuring Curly No Shoes Jr., 2010 Oklahoma Blues Hall Of Fame inductee.
