Rock Climbers Throw Down for a Good Cause

WARRENVILLE, IL, March 15th, 2014- Vertical Endeavors is hosting their 13th annual No Holds Barred rock climbing competition which brings in more than 100 climbers from all over the Midwest. This year they are “popping tags” with a thrift shop theme, naming the event “The Thrifty Throwdown”. Participants and spectators are encouraged to bring in gently used clothing to donate to the Hesed House in Aurora, IL and Rush University's Medical Mobile Van.

Competitors choose a category ranging from Novice to Advanced. There are even categories for the skilled climbers aged 40+, Divas for women and Masters for men. They have two chances to climb to the top of the wall; the second attempt will be marked with a lower score. The winners in each category will win thrift shop prizes and eternal bragging rights.

Climbers and friends will be donating to both the Hesed House and Rush University’s Medical Mobile Van. The mission of the Hesed House is to end homelessness by feeding, clothing, and sheltering the homeless. Rush University’s Medical Mobile Van brings health services directly to those who are homeless or suffer from addiction.
