Naperville’s Élan Dance Company to Present 2014 Showcase on March 22

The Naperville Park District’s Élan Dance Company will present their annual Spring Showcase at 6:30 p.m. on Saturday, March 22 at Naperville North High School Performing Arts Center, located at 899 N. Mill Street.

Performances will feature original choreography by teachers and students, who benefit by one-to-one mentoring in choreography as part of their training in Élan Dance Company.

“We are excited that our graduating senior, Victoria Lee, will perform a contemporary dance solo, titled, 彼らの為に (“For Their Sake”) which she choreographed,” said Artistic Director Chesney Murphy.

“The community is cordially invited to attend the performance,” said Artistic Director Chesney Murphy. “The variety of dance styles offers something for everyone, and the artistry of the students and choreographers will inspire and entertain the audience.”

Élan Dance Company is a program of the Naperville Park District and is partially supported by a grant from the Illinois Arts Council, a state agency.  Élan’s mission is to be a creative, accessible, and inclusive pre-professional dance company, offering young dancers an entry point into the world of dance performance.
