Naperville CARES Welcomes Two New Board Members

Naperville CARES, a volunteer-driven organization whose mission is to provide emergency financial support and resources for local families in crisis, announces that Matthew Ward, Partner with PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP, and Michael Schroeck, Global Big Data Analytics Leader for the IBM Business Analytics and Optimization Consulting Practice, have joined the non-profit’s board of directors.

“Naperville CARES has been able to grow as an agency and raise the funds needed to provide financial assistance to families to help them maintain their housing through the vision and hard work of the members of our board,” said Naperville CARES executive director, Janet Derrick, “We are thrilled that Matt and Mike have agreed to bring their talents and share their time to help CARES continue to grow.”

With a Bachelor of Science degree in Accountancy from Northern Illinois University, Ward is a partner at PricewaterhouseCoopers.  His experience includes leading audits of investment advisors, broker dealers, and some of the most complex mutual fund, private equity fund, and hedge fund families in the world. He lives in Naperville with his wife Heather and their two children.

“I am very excited to be a part of Naperville CARES and hope to help continue its legacy of making a significant impact in the community I live in,” said Ward.

Schroeck, who has a BBA in Accounting from the University of Cincinnati and an MBA in Finance from Xavier University, is an Executive with IBM and has over 30 years of consulting experience in the areas of Analytics, Information Management, Big Data, Business Intelligence and Performance Management. Last year he participated in the Naperville Marathon as a member of the Naperville CARES Team. In addition to the Naperville CARES Board, he is Treasurer for the Stonebridge Community Association and on the Finance Committee for Hesed House. He has lived in Naperville/Aurora for 25 years and has three children.

Schroeck said, "As a long-time resident and new member of the Naperville CARES Board, it is both an honor and a pleasure to be able to give back to our community through this great organization.”

Naperville CARES’ fifteen-member board supports the organization’s mission, purpose, goals, policies and programs, serving as ambassadors to the community and advocating on behalf of the organization.
