Jake was rescued from Arkansas, where he was headed towards a horrific death. AR has a rescue angel named Angie and she spends 7 days a week pulling dogs from kill shelters and transporting them to rescues. She was taking a few rare moments for herself when she spotted a boy carrying a puppy under his shirt. She pulled over and asked him if something was wrong. The boy told her that he found the puppy in a ditch and was taking it home. Angie offered to take the puppy and find it's owners. Angie originally thought the boy was a hero for helping the puppy. She now has good information that the young boy and his family were going to use the puppy to train their Pit Bulls for fighting. Angie tried very hard to find the owners of this sweet border collie puppy. After 2 weeks and no avail she made the puppy Jake available for rescue. He hitched a ride to Illinois and is a guest at Casey's Safe Haven. Jake is about 4 - 5 months old. His adoption fee is $295 and includes neuter, rabies, puppy shots, micro-chip, deworming, Frontline application, initial vet visit at one of our participating vets and 30 days of shelter care insurance. Please consider becoming a foster home while you search for your new best friend. We need foster homes - pounds are overflowing with puppies and adult dogs that are at-risk and need help. We can only rescue as many as we have foster home commitments. Fostering is a rewarding experience for your family.
