GreenFields of Geneva Celebrates Anniversaries

GreenFields of Geneva is celebrating two auspicious occasions: the second anniversary of opening its doors in its independent living community and the one-year anniversary of unveiling Briarwood Healthcare Center.

GreenFields of Geneva is a retirement community located west of downtown Geneva off of Keslinger Road. Nestled next to Mill Creek Elementary School, GreenFields is on a beautiful 26-acre campus.

The multi-phased opening of the new community began with its independent living neighborhood in January 2012. These luxury one and two bedroom apartments feature private baths and kitchens or kitchenettes. Reflections Memory Support and Willows Assisted living at GreenFields opened in August of 2012.

With the completion of Briarwood Healthcare Center early last year, GreenFields offers all components in the complete continuum of care including rehabilitation and skilled nursing. Briarwood was carefully designed to make individuals with increasing needs remain actively engaged and comfortable in a setting that is very homelike. Traditional nurses’ stations have been eliminated replaced instead with common workspaces. These are integrated with small clusters of living areas including a state-of-the-art kitchen and dining room. The Briarwood neighborhood was designed with the goal of creating opportunity for social engagement.

“As we are celebrating our anniversaries, we are pleased to announce that we’ve reached 80% occupancy which is wonderful for such a young community. Over the past year we have earned our accreditation by the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities-Continuing Care Accreditation Commission (CARF-CCAC), an honor earned by only 15% of retirement communities nationwide. We’ve also just received our Medicare certification. It’s been an exciting time,” said Judi Donovan, executive director of GreenFields. “Our residents are great ambassadors and have eagerly shared how much they love living here. GreenFields is a wonderful home now for 206 residents.”
