Is there something in your garden this year, floral and/or edible, that looks so good you know it could win a prize? Come show your stuff at the Naperville Community Gardeners 2013 Flower & Garden Show! Saturday, August 17th at The Barn Recreation Center, 421 W. Martin Ave., Naperville, 60540. Bring your best gardening efforts, as many kinds as you like, to set out for professional judging and exhibit between 7 a.m. and 10 a.m. After judging is complete, the show is fully open to public viewing from 1:30 p.m. to 3 p.m. Entering is free for all and there’s a wide range of categories that include both flowering plants and produce! Winners often come from the general public and there will be folks there to help you set up correctly. If you don’t happen to have something you want to enter this year, just drop by in the afternoon and be inspired and maybe learn a little of what judges look for in show winners. See our website for more info: napervillecommunitygardeners.org/annual_show.htm. Tags for entries and show guides will be available show day at The Barn or can be picked up in advance from August 5th at both the Naperville Park District administration office and the Alfred Rubin Riverwalk Community Center.
