DuPage Medical Group Provides Medical Services at Naperville Triathlon for Ninth Year

NAPERVILLE, Ill.—On Sunday, June 8, Dr. Julio Gonzalez and several support staff members from DuPage Medical Group will provide medical coverage for the Athleta Esprit de She Naperville Women's Triathlon. This marks the ninth year DMG, the largest independent, multi-specialty physician group in the Chicago area, has sponsored the event. Gonzalez once again will serve as the medical director for the sprint distance triathlon. 

This year’s race, consisting of a 750-meter swim, a 22k bike ride, and a 5k run, will take place throughout suburban Naperville, with over 2,000 women of all ages and experience levels slated to participate. Gonzalez and his team will remain on hand throughout the day to provide any requested or necessary care. 

“Triathlon participation is a fun way to stay in shape for all different ages and skill levels. You can make it as competitive as you want it to be,” says Gonzalez. “Training in all three disciplines keeps physical activity exciting and lessens the chance of overuse injuries.”

Gonzalez and his support team emphasize that signing up for a race, such as Esprit de She, sets a reachable goal and can serve as motivation to keep training.
