Celebrating Life’s Riches means preparing and planning for them
One of our greatest riches is our family. Suzanne M. Cahalan, JD will be one of four breakout speakers at the 51st Annual Illinois Organization of Mothers or Twins Club Convention on Saturday, October 19th in Joliet, IL.
Sue’s presentation “Estate Planning for Families” will address such issues as why you need a will, what happens to your children and property if you die without a will, why minor children should not hold title to property, how to select guardians, life insurance needs, living wills, power of attorney forms, use of joint tenancy and living trusts, estate and gift tax planning, questions concerning elderly parents and planning for families with special needs members and/or family businesses.
SUZANNE M. CAHALAN, J.D., received her law degree, with high honors, from The University of Iowa in 1982 and then served a one-year appointment as a judicial law clerk for the Senior Justice of the Supreme Court of Iowa. She was admitted to practice in Iowa in 1982 and in Illinois in 1983. From 1983-1985 she was an associate in the law firm of McDermott, Will and Emery, Chicago, Illinois, practicing exclusively in the firm’s Estate Planning and Probate Department.

Sue and her husband, Jim, a corporate lawyer, have lived in Wheaton for twenty-eight years and are the parents of four adult children, including boy/girl twins.
