Artful IMPACT! Summer Women’s “Cabaret for a Cause” to benefit DuPage PADS and WAR Chest

Artful IMPACT!,  the Naperville-based not-for-profit dedicated to making people stronger through the arts, has announced the beneficiaries for the third annual Summer Women’s Cabaret, to be performed by community performers on August 30th following a summer of singing, choreography, fellowship and fun.  Proceeds from the performance will benefit DuPage PADS interim overnight housing program, providing shelter, meals and other essential services to families and individuals, as well as Women At Risk International, through the local WAR Chest Boutique in Downtown Naperville. WAR seeks to complete a training center to provide entrepreneurial training to women at risk.

“We are excited to be able to provide this program which lifts up women in our community through the creative endeavor of putting on a show, while at the same time raising money for two very worthy causes,” says Barbara Yokom, Co-Founder of artful IMPACT!  “We find that these cabaret experiences allow participants to experience the uplifting power of arts, bond with friends new and old over one weekly rehearsal and a weekend performance. We hope women will gather their neighbors, friends, church and club friends and sign on together to make a difference.”

Artful IMPACT! has produced Cabarets for a Cause benefitting Silent Samaritans, The Global Orphan Project, DuPage Senior Citizen’s Council Meals on Wheels, and Edward Heart Hospital.  Co-Founder Deb Newman has performed in two previous Cabarets. “You discover new things about yourself, grow your artistic voice individually and in ensemble, while helping raise funds for local and global charitable causes,” she says.  “Whether you did high school shows, sang in choir or never set foot on a stage before, no extraordinary skills are needed. The creative team really puts you in your best light, and it’s a blast!”
