Naperville Last Fling-Sister Hazel

The Riverwalk, 500 W Jackson Ave, Naperville, IL | Get Directions »
$15.00

Sister Hazel, described as an alternative rock band, uses upbeat lyrics and highly melodic tunes to create their signature mix of Southern pop hooks and country rock harmonies.  The band’s instrumentation often features abrupt shifts among electric, acoustic and a cappella as heard in the smash single “All For You”.

The debut of “Release” in 2009 reached the band’s highest ever spot (#37) on the Billboard Album Charts, topping even their 1997 platinum disc “Somewhere More Familiar”.

The group’s 8th full-length collaboration, “Heartland Highway” (Oct. 2010) reflects a rootsy journey for both the band and the listeners. The album ebbs and flows between rockin’ tracks; “Great Escape” and “She’s Got A Hold On Me” and more poignant numbers “Far Away” and “Saddest Song” and can be best described as American road trip music.

Look for Sister Hazel’s characteristic blend of folk rock, pop, classic rock’n’roll and southern rock at the Last Fling Main Stage, located at the base of Rotary Hill near Naperville's famed Riverwalk, on Saturday, September 3rd.  Sister Hazel will perform 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., Poi Dog Pondering will play from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and Gin Blossoms will play the headlining time slot from 8:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.  Main Stage entertainment tickets good for all bands playing on Saturday are available for purchase for $15.00 each online at http://finearts.northcentralcollege.edu/x53584.xml and at local ticket sale locations.  Please visit the official event website at www.lastfling.org for additional information.

More About The Riverwalk

The Riverwalk

The Riverwalk

500 W Jackson Ave, Naperville, IL
630-848-5000

The Riverwalk is the place to be on a summer's night: Couples strolling, little tykes in strollers, runners running and dogs with happy tails wagging. Visitors cannot pass up a scenic tour along the Riverwalk, which is in walking distance to downtown shops. Along the Riverwalk there are places to sit down and relax. Concerts at the Millenium Carillon draw people to Rotary Park and passersby. During the summer visitors can stop and watch the swimmers at Centennial Beach. In winter, the path leads the way to sledding at Rotary Hill. And couples are often spotted having engagment photos taken in many of the path's scenic locations.
