DESCRIPTION:DuPage County will once again recognize sculpture and multi-d
 imensional methods at the DuPage Invitational Sculpture and 3-D juried a
 rt show from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday\, May 12\, at Lilacia Park\, 227
  W. Parkside Ave.\, Lombard.\nDuPage County artists who specialize in sc
 ulpture and 3-D media will be vying for cash prizes and scholarships and
  to have their works appreciated by area residents\, dignitaries such as
  State Rep. Chris Nybo and DuPage County Regional Superintendent of Scho
 ols Darleen Ruscitti\, as well as other patrons of the arts.\nThe event 
 is free to the public.\nStudent artists from Addison Trail\, Glenbard We
 st\, Naperville North\, Neuqua Valley\, Willowbrook and York high school
 s\, as well as College of DuPage\, Elmhurst College and North Central Co
 llege\, will present their projects from their most recent school year. 
 Established artists from Downers Grove\, Elmhurst\, Lombard\, Naperville
 \, Villa Park and Wheaton also will compete for prizes for their unique 
 works.\n&ldquo\;The DuPage Invitational Sculpture and 3-D Art Show has t
 urned into a very special event and a wonderful addition to an already s
 pecial time of the year in our community\,&rdquo\; said Laura Fitzpatric
 k\, Lombard District 5 trustee and sculpture show co-chairman. &ldquo\;T
 o date\, more than $12\,000 in prizes and scholarships have been given t
 o the outstanding artists who have treated Lombard to a beautiful displa
 y of artwork in Lilacia Park over the past three years. These artists ha
 ve shown that supporting the sculpture and 3-D art genre is quite worthw
 hile."\n&ldquo\;Putting the show together this year has been very exciti
 ng\,&rdquo\; said Sharon Vish\, sculpture show co- chairman. &ldquo\;Thi
 s years&rsquo\; artistic submissions are incredible. We are so very plea
 sed to be able to introduce these talented artists to an appreciative au
 dience."\n&ldquo\;The continued growth of this event and the enthusiasti
 c participation by very talented local artists is wonderful\,&rdquo\; sa
 id Marj Placek\, president of the Lombard Arts Coalition.\nAmong the man
 y participants involved in the DuPage Invitational are the Lombard Arts 
 Coalition\, Friends of the DuPage Theatre\, Lombard Park District and th
 e Village of Lombard. Committee members also include Deb Dynako\, Laura 
 Ellingsen\, Cindy Burke\, Barb Alvarado\, Kevin Fitzpatrick\, Peter Kram
 er and Lombard Park District Program Manager\, Jackie Brzezinski. Sponso
