DESCRIPTION:Every Tuesday the DuPage ADHD Adult Support Group meets at De
Paul University- Naperville Campus\, 150 Warrenville Rd\, Naperville fro
 m 7:00 &ndash\; 9:00 p.m. Members travel from all over the Chicagoland a
rea to learn to cope with having Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorde
r (ADHD) as adults.\nFeatured on the first Tuesday of each month is a gu
est speaker\, open to all visitors.\nThe stereotype of people with Atten
tion Deficit Disorder is distracted and disorganized. However\, the Nape
rville adult support group celebrated their 10th anniversary as an organ
ized and highly functioning support group.\nWe have people travel over a
n hour to attend this educational series. We are one of the strongest an
d oldest ADHD Support Groups in the Nation. Our members regularly "gradu
ate" as they learn the skills necessary to cope with their condition.\nW
estern Springs resident Ruth Princess states\, "I'm one of the alumni. I
've been managing the speakers for years and have since become a profess
ional speaker on motivation myself. ADHD groups closer to me have not la
sted as long as the Naperville group."\nOn April 3\, 2012 the presenter
is Robert Kauffman of the American Institute of Learning and Cognitive D
evelopment. Back by popular demand\, Robert Kauffman is a Senior Partner
at The American Institute of Learning &amp\; Cognitive Development. For
more than 35 years\, Bob has been leading the way as a mental health in
novator for its applications in business and education. He has been a st
udent of the human mind\; pursuing new ways for helping individuals in t
heir business pursuits discover and achieve their career and life goals.
This is an especially beneficial meeting to bring non-ADD people with y
ou. Bob talks about how non-ADD people need to learn the skills that ADD
people have mastered and vice versa.\nRobert KauffmanMaking Your Brain

. The trend for the past several guest speaker events has been a boss or
spouse had told the person with ADHD that they need to attend. We belie
ve however that the person without ADHD who recognizes the other persons
difficulties should learn about the disorder and solutions as well. Ple
ase join us the first Tuesday night of the month for guest speakers or e
very Tuesday for support.\nYour first visit is FREE. Subsequent meetings
  are only $1 donation.
