UPDATED: Police End Search for Missing Autistic Man

Police Report Charles Richard Catlett, 21, was located Tuesday and is being reunited with his family.

 

UPDATED: Jan. 31, 12:50 p.m.

Police reported Tuesday that Richard Charles Catlett was located and arrangements are being made to reunite him with his parents. He was reportedly in good physical condition.

Police continue to investigate the incident and ask that anyone who may have pertinent information contact the Naperville Police Department at 630-420-6147.

The Naperville Police Department also thanked residents and those in nearby communities for helping spread the word about Catlett.

Naperville  Police are asking for help as they search for a missing autistic man who was last seen on Naperville’s south side early Monday morning.

Charles Richard Catlett, 21, is 5’ 9” and weighs about 130 lbs., he was last seen wearing a red, snowboarder type jacket, police said. He was possibly carrying a laptop computer. 

Anyone who may have seen Catlett or who may know of his location is asked to contact the Naperville Police Department at the non-emergency number at 630-420-6147.

The proper term would be "man with autism". You wouldn't say a cencerous man, you'd say a man with cancer. Same applies w/ autism, FYI.

@ Tommy, thanks. I have two children on the severe end of the autism spectrum and really wasn't looking to pick a fight, just to inform the editor of a fairly common error which I'm sure wasn't ill intentioned on her part. I live on the other side of the country and happened to see this story posted by one of my friends who lives locally. This story is every parents nightmare and if I was local I'd have been the first person out there looking.
