Theft
Andre Minor, 35, of the 6900 block of Roosevelt Road in Berwyn, was arrested at 12:01 a.m. in the 5500 block of West Grand Avenue in Chicago, Naperville Police Department said. He was charged with theft and transported to DuPage County Jail.
No driver's license
- Joletta Tyler, 35, of the 800 block of East Ogden Avenue, was arrested at 12:36 a.m. near East Ogden Avenue and North Washington Street, police said. She was charged with no driver’s license. Her bail was $1,500.
- Mary Zanele Mzimela, 49, of the 1500 block of Fairway Drive, was arrested at 7:07 a.m. near West Diehl and Country Club Boulevard, police said. She was charged with illegal lane usage, unlawful use of license permit, obstructing identification, no driver’s license and operating a vehicle without insurance. Her bail was $2,000.
Battery
Amy Nicole Olivo, 26, of the 0-99 block of Sunset Avenue in Glen Ellyn, was arrested at 12:36 a.m. in the 0-99 block of West Jefferson Avenue at Quigley's Irish Pub, police said. She was charged with two counts of battery. Her bail was $150.
Driving under the influence
Otis Jermaine Scarver, 24, of the 1700 block of Brookdale Road, was arrested at 1 a.m. near East 8th Avenue and North Washington Street, police said. He was charged with two counts of driving under the influence of alcohol and speeding. His bond was $300.
Criminal damage
Corey James Burns, 22, of the 900 block of North Brainard Street, was arrested at 4:35 p.m. at his residence, police said. He was charged with criminal damage to a vehicle. His bond was $120.
Cash and run
Someone entered a written contract to do landscaping and provided a check, which was cashed. However, the suspect never returned to do the work in the 2100 block of Buckley Court, police said.
Attempted theft
Someone attempted to enter a locked vehicle in the 1600 block of Mirror Lake Drive, police said. Estimated damage is $675.
Stolen bike
A bike was stolen in the 1500 block of North Aurora Road, police said.

For the cash and run it states that a landscaper entered in a contract to perform landscaping work and was provided with a check (I am assuming a down payment for the work that was going to be done). The landscaper cashed the check but never returned to complete the work that was stated in the written contract. Pretty much he signed a contract to do something, got paid but never did the work. Hope that helps.

What were the results of last Tues 11 police department, 20 mile harassment of tax paying citizens trying to go about their normal activities? How many tickets issued for seat belt violations, turn signal violations, lane change violations, cell phone usage, speeding and any other violations not known or stated? What was the total money grab by these municipalities from bleeding our citizens dry?

Gerard, if people were obeying the traffic laws and being responsible they would not have been pulled over. The police followed the protocol and made the public aware of what they doing. If people are still going to break the law they should be pulled over and fined. Each week I read on this website all of the DUI's (knowing only a small percentage of people are actually caught that drive while drunk). I am glad for the efforts of the police to help keep the roads safe for me and my family. So many people feel they are above the laws now. If people could be more accountable, and respectful we wouldn't need so many laws, to wear seat belts, cell phone use, correct lane changes, speeding, using signals etc. When going about our "normal activities" we are not "harassed" by police when we obey the laws.

Please check the original article last Tues. with the comments as they explore all of the issues, ramification and implications of what is going on here. It’s not about giving out speeding tickets it’s about our continued freedoms guareenteed by our constitution and its bill of rights instead of a bunch of money grabbing thugs (not the police but the politicians) who order them to do these citizen harassing things!
