U.S. Army Sgt. Nathan Strieter got a warm welcome home from family, friends and perfect strangers who were cheering and waving American flags Sunday afternoon as he walked out of morning services at Wheatland-Salem Church.

After taking a few minutes of presentations and a chance to take photos and visit with well-wishers, Strieter, a 2007 graduate of Neuqua Valley High School, was whisked away by motorcade to the Naperville VFW for a party in his honor.

The welcome was put together by Operation Welcome You Home Illinois and included motorcyclists from the Warriors' Watch Riders and members of the Naperville fire and police departments.
