Man Found Passed Out; Charged With DUI

Police arrest a man Friday who they said was sleeping at the wheel.

Naperville Police arrested a 43-year-old man early Friday after they received several calls about a person driving suspiciously on the north side of the city.

Gyu Dong Kim, whose address is listed as being in Seoul, South Korea, was arrested around 12:15 a.m. and charged two counts of driving under the influence of alcohol and one count of illegal lane use.

Police said tipsters dialed the call center to report Kim, who they said was slumped over the steering wheel of his vehicle driving 2 mph near the intersection of Raymond Road and Ivy Lane—close to Ogden and North Aurora avenues.

When they arrived, the car was off the roadway, in a snow bank.

"The engine was still running and the front wheels were still spinning in the snow," stated the police report.

Kim was passed out, it stated.

He was arrested and booked at the Naperville Police Department. His bail was set at $3,000.
