Jeneane Ryan: Naperville CARES Volunteer of the Year

Jeneane Ryan was recently honored for her work as a volunteer with Naperville CARES.

Naperville CARES is proud to announce that Jeneane Ryan is this year’s recipient of the organization’s Volunteer of the Year Award.

Jeneane, a Naperville resident, has served not only as a program volunteer working directly with clients, but also served on the Naperville CARES’ Board of Directors, and was a member of the Cuisine for a Cause steering committee. 

“Jeneane has a heart for helping those who are dealing with a crisis in their life,” said Naperville CARES executive director, Janet Derrick, “She has touched so many lives with her compassion and concern and CARES is so grateful for her dedication to serving our clients as well as all her fundraising efforts on behalf of our organization.”

In addition to volunteering at CARES, Jeneane, who has volunteered at Naperville CARES for over 10 years, volunteers at the WAR Chest boutique in downtown Naperville, has coordinated eight mission trips to assist those in need in New Orleans after Hurricane Katrina, coordinates visits to Haiti a couple of times each year and recently, after a tornado devastated the town, assisted those in Joplin, Missouri, where she grew up.

Jeneane will join seven other previous award winners on a plaque displayed in the CARES’ office. The "Volunteer of the Year Award" was launched in 2005 to celebrate the work of those who give their time and commitment to Naperville CARES.
