Interactive Construction Map Alerts Residents on City Projects

City of Naperville makes it easier for residents to avoid potential delays due to road construction with online map system.

Warmer weather has arrived and with it comes road construction, but the city of Naperville has made it easier for residents to avoid it.

A new interactive construction map was recently launched on the city's website, which allows residents to view where and when major projects are occurring. The map also provides updates on construction activity.

Users simply type in an address to find out where construction is taking place, or scheduled to take place. Roads being worked on are highlighted on the map and once a project is clicked on information such as work dates, descriptions of the projects, travel delays and more can be accessed.

Only major projects scheduled for the 2012 construction season are included on the map like the Municipal Parking Lot Improvement Project. Other types of projects featured on the map are annual programs such as resurfacing and crack filling as well as the installation of pedestrian signals at Royal St. George Drive and Ogden Avenue.
