A vehicle ran over two mailboxes before crashing into the side of a home just a few blocks from Scott Elementary School Tuesday afternoon.

The car appeared to have been traveling westbound in the 500 block of Sheffield Road when it hit two mailboxes, drove across the lawn of a neighboring home and then slammed into the side of a garage at 512 Sheffield Rd. 

The car drove through the side of the garage, shattering a window of the home and hitting another vehicle parked inside the garage. 

It is unknown at this time whether the driver sustained any injuries or how many occupants where inside the vehicle at the time of the accident. Estimated damage to the home is also not known.

According to reports, police were dispatched to the scene around 12:46 p.m. Within an hour, crews had already left and a tow truck was towing the vehicle away from the scene.
